Terms of service
Last updated 26 October 2026
1. Who we are
WillBot is a trading style of Jackson Giles Ltd (“JGLS”, “we”, “us”), which also trades as Jackson Giles Legal Services. Jackson Giles Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16214558, registered office 1st Floor, 1 St James Court, Friar Gate, Derby, DE1 1BT. Contact: hello@willbot.co.uk or 01332 215 151. Jackson Giles Ltd is not VAT registered.
These terms apply to wills and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) documents prepared through willbot.co.uk.
2. What WillBot does, and does not do
WillBot asks you questions and turns your answers into draft documents. A will writer at JGLS reviews your will before it is finalised. WillBot does not give legal advice. Unless you buy a service that says it includes a check, we do not check Lasting Power of Attorney forms. If your situation is complicated (for example trusts, a business, property abroad or inheritance tax), we may tell you that you need advice from a person, and we may not be able to complete your documents online.
WillBot uses artificial intelligence to read and organise what you type, for example splitting a name or an address into the right fields. The AI does not give legal advice and does not decide what goes in your will: fixed rules decide the questions, you confirm a plain-English summary, and a will writer reviews your will before it is finalised. See our privacy notice for how the AI is used with your information.
WillBot is for people whose permanent home is England or Wales. It is not for Scotland or Northern Ireland.
3. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate and complete information. Your documents are only as good as your answers.
- Read the plain-English summary and confirm it is right before we finalise anything.
- Sign and witness your will exactly as the signing guide says. A will is not valid until you sign it in front of two witnesses who then sign in your presence.
- Look at your documents again after big life changes, such as marriage, divorce, children or a move.
4. Prices and payment
The prices shown on our website when you start are the prices you pay. Wills are currently £40 for a single will and £80 for mirror wills for a couple. Lasting Power of Attorney prices and the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) registration fee are shown on the Lasting Power of Attorney page. The OPG fee is set by the OPG, not us.
Free wills promotion. While our free wills promotion runs, a will started through the free wills page is free, and it stays free once you have started it. We may end or change the promotion at any time, and normal prices then apply to wills started afterwards. Optional services such as Lasting Powers of Attorney are priced separately and only if you choose them.
Payment is taken through Stripe after you have confirmed your summary. We never see your card details. Jackson Giles Ltd is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.
5. Cancelling and refunds
If you buy online you have a 14-day right to cancel. Because we start work as soon as you confirm your summary, we ask you to agree that we may start straight away. If you do:
- Before a will writer has started reviewing your will, you can cancel and we will refund you in full within 14 days.
- After the review has started, you can still cancel, but we may keep the part of the price for the work already done. For a single will or mirror wills this is the full price.
- If you did not pay (for example because a promotion made your will free), there is nothing to refund.
If we made a mistake in your documents, we will correct it free of charge. This does not affect your legal rights.
6. Delivery
Your final will is released to your account page after the review. You print it and sign it yourself. We do not keep your signed original; keep it somewhere safe and tell your executors where it is.
7. Our responsibility to you
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, our total liability to you for any one will or Lasting Power of Attorney is limited to the amount you paid us for it, or to the normal price shown on our website if it was free. We are not responsible for loss caused by incorrect information you gave us, or by documents that were signed or witnessed incorrectly.
8. Complaints
Tell us first at hello@willbot.co.uk and we will reply within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 8 weeks. We are not a member of a complaints or ombudsman scheme.
9. Your information
How we use your information is explained in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version in force when you start your will applies to it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
